BHI Agar Slant w/ 10% Sheep Blood, Chloramphenical and Gentamicin

This slant is recommended for recovery of pathogenic fungi from specimens heavily contaminated with bacteria & saprophytic fungi. Addition of mixture of 50mg/l gentamicin and 50mg/l chloramphenicol along with 10% sterile defibrinated blood is often recommended for inhibition of bacteria and isolation of pathogenic systemic fungi. Certain fungi may be inhibited on this medium.
