This medium with the addition of appropriate L-amino acid, it is used to differentiate bacteria on the basis of their ability to decarboxylate the amino acid . Bromocresol purple is the pH indicator. Positive reaction is indicated by purple colour and negative reaction by yellow colour. It is available in 5 ml quantity.
