Dextrose acts as the energy source. Chloramphenicol and penicillin nhibits to gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria other than Trichomonas species. Sodium chloride maintains the osmotic equilibrium of the medium. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
