This medium is recommended for isolation and sensitivity testing of anaerobic and microaerophilic organisms and study of colonial morphology. This medium contains sodium thioglycollate and sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate that provide adequate anaerobiosis, which is indicated by resazurin present in the medium. Resazurin imparts pink colour to the medium in presence of oxygen.
