This medium is recommended for detection of Extended Spectrum β-Lactamase-producing organisms from clinical & environmental samples. Chromogenic mixture is used to differentiate the ESBL producing organisms on the basis of colour. Ceftazidime, Cefotaxime, Ceftriazone, Aztreonam & Fluconazole helps in inhibition of other contaminating organisms.
