Recommended for differentiation & enumeration of Escherichia coli and other coliforms by single membrane filtration. Chromogenic substrate detects the presence of beta glucuronidase. Phenol red detects lactose fermentation. E.coli produces green coloured colonies. Lactose fermenters produce yellow coloured and lactose non-fermenters produce pink coloured colonies. Gram positive organisms are inhibited.
