This HiDip slides are recommended for urine bacteria screening. It comprises of three surfaces having MacConkey Agar, CLED Agar and Sabouraud Dextrose Agar. MacConkey Agar - A selective medium for detection of Enterobacteriaceae and is based on lactose fermentation with neutral red as indicator. Bile salt mixture and crystal violet are the selective agent. CLED Agar- A non-selective agar based on lactose fermentation with Bromothymol blue, BTB as indicator. Sabouraud Dextrose Agar - A general purpose medium for cultivation of yeasts, moulds and aciduric microorganisms. High dextrose concentration and low pH favours fungal growth and inhibits contaminating bacteria from test .
