CF027 is recombinant human basic fibroblast growth factor expressed in E. coli, filtered through 0.22μ membrane filter and lyophilized with 5mM Tris, pH 7.6 and 150mM NaCl. bFGF possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and is involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, etc. Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor (bFGF) is one of the 23 known members of FGF family. Because of its capacity to bind heparin it is also known as heparin binding factor. This heparin binding capacity enhances growth-factor ligand interaction. bFGF acts through FGF receptor 1b, 1c, 2c, 3c and 4. In general, fibroblast growth factors are potent mitogens for vascular and capillary endothelial cells. Basic FGF promotes differentiation and proliferation of wide variety of cells including mesenchymal, neuroectodermal, mesodermal and endothelial cells. It has been used to enhance the survival of new cell lines derived from primary cultures and also to eliminate the use of feeder cells during hybridoma cloning.
