Starch & Potassium Iodide Paper

Starch & Potassium Iodide paper is used for the qualitative detection of oxidizing agents in water, such as nitrites, free chlorine, iodine, or peroxides. In the absence of these substances, the paper remains colorless; when present, it develops a dark blue to black coloration.
