Turmeric Paper

Turmeric indicator paper provides a qualitative indication of pH over the approximate range of 6.8 to 8.6. It remains bright yellow under slightly acidic to neutral conditions (below pH 6.8) and changes to a red color in alkaline environments above pH 8.6. In addition, it can be used to detect borates in water, which produce a distinct red coloration.
