Lysine Arginine Iron HiVegâ„¢ Agar is recommended for the isolation and presumptive identification of Yersinia species from milk and milk products. Hiveg medium is formulated as ecommended by APHA for isolation and identification of Yersinia from milk and milk products. It is based on the ability of bacteria to decarboxylate lysine, arginine and produce H2S. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
