Semisolid RV HiVegâ„¢ Medium Base is recommended for isolation of Salmonella species from food stuffs and other materials based on selective motility. Hiveg media for the detection of motile Salmonella species from food and environmental specimens. This medium detects more Salmonella positive samples than the routinely used enrichment procedures. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
