Titration Sample Beaker, 100 mL

Beakers are usually made of borosilicate glass, such as PYREX, which can withstand thermal shock and heating on a hot plate or Bunsen burner. A 100ml beaker is a laboratory container used primarily for holding, mixing, and heating liquids. It can also be used to measure approximate volumes of liquids, though a graduated cylinder or balance is preferred for precise measurements.

Place a 100 mL beaker on a level surface and look at the liquid level at eye level to get an accurate reading. Determine the liquid's curved meniscus bottom by reading the nearest indicated line, and use this information to estimate the volume. Beakers have graduations, but they are not as exact as a graduated cylinder, therefore, measurements are generally calculated to the closest 1/10th of the lowest graduation.
